With millions of Americans traveling, mingling — often unvaccinated and mask-free — cases of infection with the new coronavirus spiked over the past long weekend. Recent pot use tied to a doubling in odds for heart attack in youth. New research shows that 18- to 44-year-olds who used marijuana over the past month were twice as likely to have a heart attack compared with non-users, whether they smoked, vaped or ate their weed. Read more

Vaping may raise risk for clotting, narrowed arteries. In a small new study involving 22 healthy young men and women, puffing on an e-cigarette led to an immediate rise in the risk for blood clots, as well as a significant narrowing of the body's small arteries. Nicotine is thought to be the culprit. Read more
