Imported onions behind salmonella outbreak in 37 states. The CDC has tracked down the source of a multi-state outbreak of potentially deadly salmonella: imported red, yellow and white onions from Mexico. So far, 652 people have been sickened across 37 states, resulting in 129 hospitalizations. Read more

Baby 'slings' implicated in injuries to infants. They're beloved by many women because baby gets close contact with mom, but slings and other popular "baby-wearing" products have also sent thousands of U.S. infants to the emergency room in the past decade, a new study finds. Read more

Can strenuous exercise raise the odds for ALS? A new study may allay worries that lots of vigorous recreational exercise might up the chances for the devastating neurological disease known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). But the study did find a connection between on-the-job physical activity and odds for getting the illness. Read more

United States now leads world in COVID vaccines donated abroad. According to the Agency for International Development, the United States has now donated 200 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to more than 100 countries and territories. Read more
