Vitamin D Supplements Do Not Cut Rates of Incident Fractures in Healthy Adults
Vitamin D3 supplementation does not result in a significantly lower risk for fractures among generally healthy middle-aged and older adults. Among 25,871 participants, vitamin D3 (2,000 IU per day) did not significantly reduce total fractures, nonvertebral fractures, or hip fractures vs. placebo.
