Bruce Springsteen Postpones Shows Due to Peptic Ulcers

THURSDAY, Sept. 7, 2023 (HealthDay News) -- Bruce Springsteen has again postponed shows for illness, this time while he is treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease.
Springsteen announced Wednesday that he was postponing his September shows in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Albany and Syracuse in New York, and in Connecticut and Ohio, the Associated Press reported.
“Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” Springsteen said in a statement posted on his site and social media. “We’ll be back to pick up these shows and then some.”
Peptic ulcer disease causes heartburn, nausea and abdominal pain from ulcers in the stomach or small intestine.
This is the first tour in six years for “The Boss” and his E Street Band. It started in Tampa, Fla., in February. Springsteen also postponed March shows in Albany, Connecticut and Columbus, Ohio, in March due to illness, the AP reported.
Now 74, Springsteen is known for his three-hour, high-energy concerts.
He most recently performed three nights of shows in his home state of New Jersey.
