Crisis Services
23 Hour Crisis Observation:
SIMHC offers a 23 hours crisis observation unit for patients that find themselves in a mental health or substance abuse crisis and do not need an Emergency Room. Anyone can simply walk into the unit and be assessed quickly by a Registered Nurse that has previous mental health experience. The nurse will conduct an immediate physical assessment and mental health assessment and talk with the patient about their crisis. The nurse can also help with medication reconciliation and answer your questions about medication. When anyone comes to the 23 Hour Crisis Observation unit they can expect a warm and welcoming place to work through their crisis. During the stay they will meet with a Mental Health Professional to discuss your crisis and work through a plan of next steps that makes sense for your situation. Patients can stay at this level of care for up to 23 hours and this service is offered at no charge to the patient.
Crisis Stabilization:
SIMHC offers a Crisis Stabilization unit for patients that find themselves in a mental health or substance abuse crisis and do not need an Emergency Room. Patients are able to stay in Crisis Stabilization for a few hours or a few days depending on the nature of their crisis and their unique days. During their stay, the patient will work through the mental health or substance abuse crisis, follow up with medication prescribers as applicable and develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan. At discharge staff will make necessary follow up appointments with mental health providers, so care can continue. This stay is available at no charge to the patient.
