ACT is a program of comprehensive outpatient services consistent with evidence – based practice standards published by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). ACT is provided in the community and directed towards the reduction of symptoms and increasing the level of independent function. ACT is best designed for patients that suffer from a psychotic mental health disorder and who have failed other types of outpatient treatment. ACT includes access to a full team of treatment providers which consists of: a therapist, a substance abuse professional, a nurse, a community support specialist, a prescriber and a peer support specialist. Our ACT team covers: Jefferson, Mahaska, Wapello and Davis counties.
